Strength and Conditioning for Runners Training, is a medically supervised and planned training course. The goal of “SCR” is to address injuries which have kept you from running without pain and prevented you from achieving your fitness goals. We provide each athlete with a better understanding of their body mechanics and what factors can be contributing to the inability to heal or improve performance. Along with addressing the injuries, we instruct our athletes on how to achieve a higher level of fitness without adding extra stress to injured areas.

At your first class, you will meet your running coach and medical team. You will receive a risk assessment, which includes a general health screen and a muscular skeletal screen. Based on the evaluation, each athlete receives an individualized workout plan from our sports medicine doctor. The doctor, in conjunction with a certified running coach, work on a series of exercises to assist in the recovery process. A formal video-taped gait analysis is also provided to each participant. A consultation with the coach and our team doctor will allow us to
further individualize your workout based on any compensatory patterns. Participants and involved in every step of the program.

The class is 8 weeks, and meets twice a week with your certified
running coach and monitored by our sports medicine team. Throughout the eight-week program, you will perform a series of strength exercises, and will be introduced back to minimal running based on your individual recovery.
