Half Marathon

Half Marathon training, is ideal for the first timer, as well as experienced half marathoners, that enjoys group training.

We recommend that you have either completed our 10K training or have been running regularly for at least five months before considering this course. You must be able to complete a three mile run on the first day of training.

On the first day, we will conduct a fitness evaluation to determine each runner’s level of fitness and to properly place them in a pace group.

This 16-week course is designed to follow a five-level progressing training pyramid. The course begins with base training, transitioning to strength/endurance training, speed training, peaking and tapering. You will participate in one long run per week with your pace group on Saturday morning. In addition to your scheduled weekend long run, you will be required to run four days during the week on your own.

In order to assist you with your weekly mileage, we offer a coached run with the 10K class. The days of training vary based on location. Your coach will provide you with specific details.

NOTE: Race registration, including fees, must be done separately by the participant and is not included in Running Academy enrollment.

All classes also provide you with informative training workshops on:

  • Good Form Running, including a video gait analysis
  • Footwear, apparel and accessory
  • Sport-specific strength training
  • Nutrition, and more…

Alejandra has been running since 2007. She started running because a high school friend asked her if she wanted to join the cross country team agreed and loved the sport since. Alejandra graduated in May of 2016 with a Bachelors in Kinesiology. She loves how the body works and believes that it is important to take care of the body. She says “it is very gratifying to know that you are able to help someone recover”
