A Snail's Pace Running Shop has been serving the Southern California running community since 1979
What began as Loeschhorn's for Runners in Fountain Valley has grown into a trusted destination for runners of all levels. Through the ups and downs of the running boom in the 80s, A Snail's Pace became more than a place to buy shoes. It became a meeting place for the local running community, known for its welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.
In 1992, a chance encounter brought Eddie Johnson into the business, marking a pivotal moment in the company's growth. With a shared vision for community and innovation, A Snail's Pace expanded to multiple locations across Orange County and earned national recognition as one of America's Best Running Stores.
Following Dave Reynolds' retirement in 2014, leadership transitioned to Eddie, Tiffany, and Joe, who continued to build on the store's foundation while introducing new ideas and experiences for runners. In 2023, Joe took full ownership, carrying the brand forward with the same commitment to community, service, and evolution.

Running at A Snail's Pace goes beyond the store walls. Weekly runs are held at all locations. We also host demo runs, brand events, and community activations to bring people together.
Our Run Club welcomes all ages and abilities. It creates a space where runners connect, train, and grow. Members gain access to structured training, exclusive perks, and a supportive environment that makes every mile more meaningful.
