2019 Salt Creek Stampede
7:30 AM* Sunday, August 4, 2019
This club event consists of a time handicapped, approximately 6-mile race along the Salt Creek Trail in Laguna Niguel, followed by a Potluck Brunch and Pool Party at Morris Manor. Race start is staggered based on participants’ past Stampede performance or recent race times for a hilly course. Bib pickup is from 6:15 – 7:00 a.m. at Morris Manor. (Address provided upon receipt of registration.) Slowest runner goes out first, followed proportionately by successively faster runners. Fastest runner goes out last. *Note: Start times will depend on the expected finish times and the number of participants.
Course: Out and back on rolling hills from the Niguel Road underpass to the Ritz Carlton. Runners will be checked off by volunteers at the turnaround. No aid stations.
Awards: Only ASPRC members in good standing are eligible for awards. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 Overall Finishers. Additionally, trophies will be awarded to the first time Stampeder whose finish time is closest to his or her predicted time and the veteran Stampeder whose time is most improved from the previous Stampede, but no“double dipping”. Disclaimer: the handicapping system is intended to level the playing field so that all participants have an equal chance at placing. No guarantees are made for its ultimate accuracy.
Each entry includes a high-quality New Balance technical singlet. Bring a brunch dish to share and your swimsuit/towel for a post-run dip.
